Sarawak Agencies Boost Readiness with Tupong Flood Preparedness Briefing

KUCHING – Multi-agency coordination and proactive disaster planning took centre stage during a flood preparedness briefing for the Tupong constituency, aimed at strengthening readiness ahead of the upcoming monsoon season.

The session, held at Hana Sofiyya Hall along Jalan Astana on Tuesday afternoon, brought together representatives from security forces, rescue units and technical departments directly involved in disaster management.

Chief Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier and Tupong Assemblyman, Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, attended the briefing, underscoring the state leadership’s commitment to safeguarding communities in flood-prone areas.

Discussions focused on early preparations for the monsoon period, including emergency action plans, evacuation procedures, and aid delivery mechanisms. Agencies were urged to streamline coordination to ensure swift and effective responses during emergencies.
