Samarahan Tang Soo Do Association Celebrates Chinese New Year

KUCHING – The Sarawak Samarahan Tang Soo Do Association ushered in the Chinese Lunar New Year with a spirited celebration at its headquarters, bringing together students, parents, and instructors in a festive and inclusive gathering.

The event, held on 25 February, was marked by vibrant participation from members of diverse ethnic backgrounds. Attendees joined in the celebration to strengthen community ties, share encouragement, and embrace the festive spirit.

Instructors took the opportunity to extend blessings and motivational words to students and parents, highlighting the values of perseverance and unity that underpin Tang Soo Do practice.

The Association emphasised that Tang Soo Do is more than a martial art. It represents a multicultural family where discipline, respect, humility, and perseverance are nurtured through consistent training. The Lunar New Year celebration served as a reflection of these shared values, reinforcing the bonds among members.

Over the past year, the Association has recorded notable progress in both training and competitive achievements. Members expressed gratitude for the collective effort that has strengthened the team, while also setting new aspirations for personal growth in the coming year.

During the closing remarks, instructors reviewed the Association’s accomplishments and encouraged students to embrace the Year of the Horse with courage and determination. They urged members to face challenges with the spirit of galloping horses, striving to become stronger and better versions of themselves.

The gathering was filled with appreciation for the contributions of students, parents, and instructors, which have helped the Association grow into a warm and united community.
