BAU – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in Bau responded to an emergency call on Friday, 6 March 2026, after receiving reports of a suspected stroke case in Kampung Peninjau.
The District Operation Control Centre (PKOD) received the call at 2.28pm from a member of the public. APM personnel were dispatched immediately to assist.
The patient showed sudden symptoms linked to a stroke. Responders stabilised the individual before arranging transfer for further medical treatment. Officials said the situation was handled efficiently, ensuring the patient’s safety and keeping the scene under control.
Stroke remains a major medical emergency in Malaysia. Health authorities stress the need to recognise early warning signs such as weakness in the limbs, facial drooping, and difficulty speaking. Quick medical treatment reduces the risk of long-term complications.
APM Bau reminded residents that response teams remain on duty around the clock. The unit operates a hotline at 082-762925, while urgent emergencies are reported through the national line 999.
Residents welcomed the rapid response, noting that early action often makes a major difference in recovery. The Civil Defence Force continues to support medical emergencies while carrying out disaster response duties across the region.
