The warm reception underscored the collaborative spirit between the federal and state branches of the Public Works Department.

During the session, Datu Dr. Cassidy Morris presented an extensive briefing on the state’s preparation strategy. He outlined the logistical planning and preliminary coordination efforts already underway in Sarawak.

The Director emphasised that hosting HPTN 2026 is not merely a ceremonial duty but a strategic opportunity to showcase Sarawak’s unique technical challenges and its innovative solutions in infrastructure development.

The National Technical Profession Day is an annual highlight for the country’s engineers, architects, and technical specialists. By moving the event to Sarawak, the department aims to foster a more inclusive national dialogue regarding technical standards and professional growth.

The 2026 event is expected to feature diverse seminars and exhibitions that bridge the gap between regional developments and national goals.

According to JKR Sarawak Media, the engagement session was highly productive, with both federal and state officials aligning on the core objectives.

The focus will remain on creating a positive, long-lasting impact on the development of technical professions throughout the country, while simultaneously highlighting Sarawak’s rapid infrastructure transformation.

As planning continues, the department remains committed to ensuring that the HPTN 2026 provides a world-class platform for networking and knowledge exchange, ultimately strengthening Malaysia’s technical foundation.
