BINTULU – The Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) held its annual Ramadan Donation Presentation Ceremony at the Wisma Bintulu Auditorium on 12 March 2026, reaffirming its focus on employee welfare and community spirit.
A total of 42 employees received assistance through the programme. The contribution helps ease financial pressure during the fasting month and brings added support ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The initiative also reflects BDA’s effort to build a supportive workplace while strengthening ties between management and staff.
The ceremony served as more than a form of financial aid. It also promoted values of compassion and unity among employees during Ramadan, a period associated with reflection and charity. Through the programme, BDA reinforces a workplace culture where staff feel appreciated and supported.
Across Sarawak, Ramadan often brings a rise in charitable activities. In Bintulu, BDA recently organised a Sungkei ceremony at the At-Taqwa Mosque.
During the event, donations were channelled to local institutions, including Madrasah At-Taqwa and PPDK OKU Gemilang Jepak, extending support beyond the workplace.
Support for such programmes has also been voiced by Tiong King Sing, Member of Parliament for Bintulu. He highlighted the value of Ramadan initiatives in strengthening social ties and assisting those in need.
Contributions to Surau Nur Islam and the Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA) Bintulu branch reflect wider community participation during the holy month.
The ceremony at Wisma Bintulu forms part of a broader network of charity efforts in the city. By combining employee support with community outreach, BDA continues to promote a culture of care and shared responsibility.
As Ramadan continues, initiatives like this encourage further acts of generosity across Bintulu. For recipients, the donation offers practical help and recognition. For the community, it reflects the spirit of unity and compassion associated with the season.
