KUCHING – The Sarawak Cancer Centre (PKS) Construction Project advanced another step with the Trust Account Meeting No. 2/2026, chaired by YBhg. Datuk Seri Hj. Hasnol Zam Zam bin Hj. Ahmad at the Sarawak State Health Department.
The meeting focused on presenting the latest status of project implementation, including updates on physical progress, current costs, and medical equipment procurement planning. These discussions are critical to ensuring the readiness of comprehensive cancer treatment facilities in Sarawak.
Officials emphasised that the PKS project is a high-impact initiative designed to strengthen access to quality cancer treatment services, particularly for patients in Sabah and Sarawak.
The Ministry of Health reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the project in a planned, transparent, and effective manner.
The Sarawak Cancer Centre, approved by the Cabinet in 2024, is expected to become a landmark facility offering modern oncology services.
With its phased timeline stretching from pre-implementation (2025–2026) through implementation (2027–2032) and post-implementation (2032–2034), the centre is projected to be fully operational by 2032.
By focusing on accountability and strategic planning, the Trust Account Meeting underscored the importance of aligning financial management with project milestones.
This ensures that resources are optimised and that the centre will meet its goal of delivering world-class cancer care to the people of East Malaysia.
