SUHAKAM Commissioner Meets Sarawak Police Commissioner in Kuching

KUCHING – The Sarawak Police Commissioner, YDH CP Datuk Mohamad Zainal bin Haji Abdullah, received a courtesy visit from the Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM), Tuan Dahim anak Nadot, at the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters on 17 April 2026.

The meeting, held in the Guest Room of the headquarters, was aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and SUHAKAM.

Discussions centred on human rights issues in Sarawak, particularly in relation to security and law enforcement, as well as enhancing communication to improve the understanding and application of human rights principles in policing operations.

The courtesy visit provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on how law enforcement can balance operational responsibilities with the protection of human rights.

Also present during the session were senior police officials, including the Head of the Sarawak Management Department, SAC Zulkipli bin Suhaili; Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department Chief, SAC Lim San Aik; and Sarawak Special Branch Deputy Chief, ACP Mohd Azahari bin Mohd Noor.
