MIRI – The Miri Port Authority (MPA) welcomed representatives from Nestlé Malaysia for an official partner visit on 21 April 2026 at its Kuala Baram office.
The engagement provided a platform for constructive dialogue and highlighted opportunities for collaboration in logistics and port operations.
Nestlé Malaysia was represented by Assistant Manager Ms Ellysia Anak Inggam and her team. They expressed appreciation for the progress made by MPA and emphasised the shared vision between both organisations in supporting efficiency and growth.
During the visit, the delegation toured port facilities, including cargo handling and storage areas. The tour offered insights into the operational capabilities of Miri Port and its role in supporting regional trade.
A meeting was also held with port officials to discuss shipping processes and explore potential improvements in delivery efficiency.
The discussions underscored the strategic importance of Miri Port as a logistics hub in northern Sarawak. With its facilities catering to both domestic and international shipping, the port plays a vital role in supporting industries such as food manufacturing, energy, and timber.
Nestlé Malaysia’s interest in strengthening ties with MPA reflects the growing need for reliable and efficient supply chain solutions.
Officials noted that collaboration between Nestlé Malaysia and MPA could enhance logistics efficiency, reduce delivery times, and support business expansion.
The partnership is expected to contribute to improved operational standards and foster stronger economic ties between the private sector and port authorities.
The visit also highlighted MPA’s commitment to engaging with industry partners to identify areas for improvement.
By working closely with companies such as Nestlé, the authority aims to ensure that its services remain competitive and aligned with industry needs.
This business engagement marks another step in Miri Port Authority’s efforts to position itself as a key facilitator of trade and logistics in Sarawak.
With global supply chains facing increasing challenges, partnerships of this nature are essential in ensuring resilience and sustainable growth.
