The Sebauh District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) received the emergency request and immediately dispatched personnel to the location.

The team worked to secure the snake safely, ensuring no harm to residents or property during the operation.

Python sightings in residential areas are not uncommon in Sarawak, particularly in rural districts where vegetation and storage spaces provide shelter for reptiles.

Such encounters often cause alarm among residents, highlighting the importance of swift intervention by trained authorities.

APM Sebauh reiterated its commitment to community safety under its guiding principle of “Ready, Fast & Integrity”.

The agency continues to encourage residents to report wildlife encounters promptly to avoid unnecessary risks.

Authorities also reminded the public that emergencies should be reported through the national hotline 999, which covers police, fire, medical, and civil defence services.

For localised assistance, APM Sebauh can be contacted directly via its 24-hour hotlines at 019-2178746 or 086-422634.

The successful capture of the python reflects the effectiveness of coordinated emergency response systems in Sarawak’s districts.

By working closely with residents, APM strengthens its role as a trusted guardian of public welfare and ensures that communities remain safe from potential hazards.
