APM Bintulu Destroys Large Beehive at Dormitory Area

BINTULU – The Bintulu District Operations Control Centre (PKOD Bintulu) successfully handled a bee nest removal operation on Monday after receiving a request from another agency.

The complaint reported the presence of a hive beneath the pedestrian roof situated between the male and female dormitories of a local building.

The hive, described as being the size of a volleyball, posed a potential risk to students and staff in the area.

APM Bintulu immediately deployed a team to the site to carry out the operation. Officers used protective gear and appropriate equipment to ensure the removal was conducted safely.

The hive was destroyed using Ridsect spray combined with controlled burning techniques, preventing any aggressive behaviour from the bees and ensuring the safety of those nearby.

The operation was completed without incident, and the area was declared safe following the intervention.

Authorities highlighted that such cases demonstrate the importance of swift action in preventing harm from insect nests located in public spaces.
