MIRI – A pedestrian was killed in a suspected hit-and-run incident along Miri Airport Road near the Borneo Medical Centre in the early hours of 11 May 2026.
Police reported that the victim, a local man in his fifties, was attempting to cross the road when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle. The collision occurred at approximately 1.00 am, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which covers offences relating to dangerous driving resulting in death.
Authorities are working to identify the vehicle involved and have appealed to members of the public who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with information.
