Family Among Four Killed in Five-Vehicle Crash Near Renggam Prison

KLUANG, June 1 – A tragic road accident involving five vehicles claimed the lives of four people, including a 10-year-old child, along Jalan Renggam–Simpang Renggam near Simpang Renggam Prison on Monday afternoon.

The fatal crash, which occurred at about 1pm, involved a Toyota Vios, BMW, Mercedes-Benz E250, Proton Wira and Perodua Alza. Initial reports circulating online alleged that several vehicles were racing before the collision occurred. However, authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the accident, and police investigations are ongoing.

According to reports, the four victims who lost their lives were travelling in the Toyota Vios. They were identified as Aiman Mohd Rashid, 36, Nor Azlina Abd Latip, 33, Semek Mat Soh, 73, and Nur Airish Syifa Sidek, 10.

The incident has shocked the local community due to the severity of the collision and the loss of an entire family group travelling in the same vehicle.

Renggam Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Ismail Mamat said emergency responders received a distress call at 1.16pm and immediately dispatched a team of five personnel to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a major crash involving five vehicles. Rescue personnel worked quickly to assess the victims and secure the area.

According to Ismail, one of the victims from the Toyota Vios was thrown out of the vehicle during the impact and landed on the roof of the Mercedes-Benz, highlighting the force of the collision.

Two people from the other vehicles were reported injured. They were identified as Perodua Alza driver Husnizam Hisamudin, 38, and the driver of the BMW, whose identity has not yet been released.

Meanwhile, Proton Wira driver Muhammad Amirul Hazim Misnon, 22, escaped without injuries.

The four occupants of the Mercedes-Benz also survived the crash. They were identified as Mohd Azhar Ahmad, 63, his son Muhammad Hariz Mohd Azhar, 23, Rahimar A. Rahman, 57, and a female passenger whose identity has yet to be confirmed.

The accident caused significant disruption to traffic along the busy stretch of road as emergency personnel carried out rescue and recovery operations. Members of the public gathered near the scene while authorities worked to clear the wreckage and document evidence.

As of publication, police have not issued an official statement regarding the cause of the accident. Investigators are expected to examine witness accounts, vehicle conditions and other evidence to determine how the crash occurred.
