KUCHING – A contribution of RM3,000 has been handed over to the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Burung Linin to support its community programmes and activities.
The funding was presented by Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, YB Dato Ir. Lo Khere Chiang, during a ceremony on 13 June 2026.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening the committee’s capacity to organise projects that benefit residents and encourage greater community participation.
Dato Ir. Lo highlighted the importance of empowering grassroots organisations, noting that local committees play a vital role in fostering unity and addressing the needs of their neighbourhoods.
He expressed hope that the financial support would help JKKK Kampung Burung Linin implement meaningful initiatives that enhance the well-being of villagers.
Community development committees such as JKKK are established across Sarawak to coordinate local programmes, improve infrastructure, and promote social harmony.
Contributions from elected representatives often provide essential resources for these committees to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
Residents of Kampung Burung Linin welcomed the support, viewing it as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation among villagers and to expand activities that promote cultural, educational, and social engagement.
The funding is expected to be channelled into programmes that encourage youth involvement, improve facilities, and support events that bring the community together.
This gesture reflects a broader commitment by state leaders to ensure that rural and semi-urban communities receive the assistance needed to thrive.
By investing in local committees, the government and representatives aim to build stronger networks of support and encourage sustainable development at the village level.
The contribution to Kampung Burung Linin underscores the ongoing efforts to reinforce community spirit and highlights the role of elected representatives in nurturing grassroots initiatives across Sarawak.
