BINTULU – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Bintulu responded to an emergency call on 19 June 2026 after a beehive was discovered on a mango tree behind a residence.
The District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) received the report from a member of the public, prompting immediate deployment of personnel to the site.
Upon arrival, officers identified the beehive, which was approximately the size of a takraw ball, and assessed the potential risk to the household.
Using insecticide spray combined with controlled burning techniques, the team successfully destroyed the hive.
The operation was carried out with care to ensure the safety of residents and prevent any escalation of danger.
Officials later confirmed that the situation was fully under control, with no injuries or property damage reported.
APM Bintulu expressed appreciation to the public for promptly reporting the case, noting that early communication is vital in preventing harm from insect infestations.
