BATU KAWA – Community engagement in Batu Kawa has been steadily maintained since 2016, with local residents continuing to benefit from regular outreach initiatives led by ADUN N14 Batu Kawa, Dr Sim Kui Hian.
The service programme, known for its ground-level approach, focuses on listening to residents’ concerns and assisting with practical matters ranging from household issues to official applications and paperwork.
The initiative reflects a commitment to ensuring that everyday challenges faced by families are addressed directly and effectively.
At the heart of this effort is the DUN N14 Dr Sim Service Centre, which operates as a fixed address for residents seeking help.
The office remains open to walk-ins, phone calls, and WhatsApp messages, providing a reliable channel for community members to raise problems or request assistance.
To further enhance accessibility, the service team has introduced mobile counters during weekends. These counters are stationed at different coffee shops on a rotational basis, with locations typically announced in advance on Thursdays or Fridays.
This mobile approach allows residents to engage with the team in familiar settings, making the service more approachable and convenient.
The initiative embodies the principle of turun padang, or going down to the ground, ensuring that leaders remain connected to the realities of daily life.
