DALAT – The Civil Defence Force (APM) in Dalat responded swiftly to a road traffic accident in the Oya district, providing critical first aid to a victim who was ejected from their vehicle.
The incident occurred in Kampung Teh, prompting an immediate dispatch of emergency personnel to the scene.
The Dalat District Operations Control Center (PKOD) received an emergency call reporting a single-vehicle accident, locally referred to as a KJR case.
Upon receiving the distress signal, the APM Bravo Squad was mobilised without delay. The three-member team was led by Corporal (PA) Hashim bin Ahmad Zaidi, who directed the rescue operation upon arrival.
When the squad reached the location in Kampung Teh, they found that the driver had been thrown out of the car during the crash.
Such ejections often result in severe injuries, particularly to the spine and head, necessitating careful handling by trained responders. The victim was conscious but required immediate stabilisation to prevent further harm during transport.
Recognising the potential for spinal injury, the APM team acted in accordance with standard medical protocols. They utilised a spinal board and a cervical collar to immobilise the victim’s neck and back.

Initial assessments revealed that the individual had sustained open wounds on both knees. While these injuries were visible and required attention, the primary focus remained on stabilising the victim’s spinal condition.
After being secured in the ambulance, the victim was transported to the nearest hospital for comprehensive medical treatment and further evaluation.
