KUCHING – The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, presided over a grand investiture ceremony at the Sarawak State Palace today, conferring state honours upon 151 individuals.
The event recognised the recipients’ unwavering dedication, service and significant contributions towards the progress and development of the state.
The ceremony was held with full ceremonial splendour, reflecting the high esteem in which these contributions are held. Among the distinguished guests in attendance was the Governor’s consort, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, along with key state and federal officials.
Notable attendees included Minister in the Premier’s Department, Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai, Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, and Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Administration), Datu Felicia Tan Ya Hua.
At the pinnacle of the honours list, ten individuals were bestowed with the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, specifically the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K.). This prestigious award acknowledges exceptional service to the state.
The recipients included Ustaz Mohamad Ihsan Haidzir, Ladin Atok, Zul Usup, Ranum Bari, Mohammad Zunica Mohamad Sapi’ee, Temenggong Pi’ee Alwi, Lena Masaat, Khamisah Bohari, Margaret Abat and Jackline August.
Recognising outstanding performance in public administration, twenty individuals received the Public Administration Medal, known as the Commendable Service Medal (P.P.B.).
Among those honoured for their exemplary contributions to public service and state development were Asri Om, Awang Abdul Faridz Awang Yusop, Lau Sie Hung and Mahathir Jokeni. Their work exemplifies the commitment required to drive administrative excellence in Sarawak.
Furthermore, twelve recipients were awarded the Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S.) Order. This group included notable figures such as Lucas Takip and Bungan Gandel, whose efforts have significantly impacted their respective fields and communities.
In addition to these accolades, twenty-one individuals were conferred the Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K.) Order. This honour serves as a testament to their sustained services and valuable contributions to the broader development agenda of Sarawak.
The ceremony also saw forty-five recipients being awarded the Public Administration Medal, Commendable Service Medal (P.P.T.), recognising their diligent service in various governmental roles.
Completing the list of honourees, forty-three individuals received the Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S.) Order, acknowledging their foundational support and dedication to state initiatives.
