Bau District Council Brings Services Closer to Kandis Community

BAU – The Bau District Council has brought its public services closer to residents through the Mobile Counter Programme held for the Kampung Kandis Lama community.

The programme took place on 1 August 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall in Kampung Kandis Baru as part of the council’s efforts to make its services more accessible to people in the local community.

The mobile counter initiative was introduced to provide residents with a more convenient way to obtain information and assistance relating to Bau District Council matters without having to travel further to access council services.

Through the programme, members of the community were able to seek information and advisory assistance on matters handled by the council.

The initiative also provided an opportunity for residents to engage directly with council representatives and obtain guidance on services and issues relevant to their needs.

The Bau District Council said the programme was part of its efforts to bring public services closer to the people and make access to council assistance more convenient.

Providing services through a mobile counter can also create a more direct channel between the local authority and communities, allowing residents to raise enquiries and obtain information in a familiar setting.

The programme reflects the council’s continued focus on improving the delivery of public services at the community level.

According to the council, the initiative is aimed at supporting efficient, community-friendly and effective service delivery.

The approach also highlights the importance of direct engagement between local authorities and residents, particularly when it comes to ensuring that information and assistance are accessible to the wider community.

For residents of Kampung Kandis Lama and surrounding areas, the programme provided an opportunity to interact with the council and seek clarification on matters related to Bau District Council services.

The use of a mobile counter also allows council services to be delivered outside the council’s usual offices, providing an additional channel for community engagement.

Such programmes can help local authorities better understand the needs and concerns of residents while allowing members of the public to receive information directly from council personnel.

The Bau District Council’s initiative is part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening public service delivery and maintaining engagement with communities within its administrative area.

The council also expressed its appreciation to the local community and all parties who contributed to the successful implementation of the programme.

It thanked residents for their cooperation and response throughout the programme.

The council said continued cooperation between the local authority and the community is important in ensuring that public service initiatives can be carried out effectively.

The Mobile Counter Programme at Kampung Kandis Baru therefore served both as a service delivery initiative and an opportunity for closer engagement between the Bau District Council and local residents.

By bringing information, advisory assistance and council-related services closer to the community, the programme supports the broader objective of making public services more accessible and responsive.

The initiative also demonstrates the role local authorities can play in adapting service delivery to the needs of communities.

For the Bau District Council, continued engagement through programmes such as the mobile counter is part of its efforts to provide services that are efficient, accessible and community-focused.
