ULU SKRANG – The XPDC 3.0 team has continued its infrastructure assessment in Ulu Skrang with a site survey at KM21+900, where proposed slope repair works are being considered.
The inspection focused on examining the existing condition of the slope and assessing whether improvements may be required at the location.
The survey forms part of the two-day XPDC 3.0 field programme led by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, which began in Betong on 12 August 2026.
During the latest visit, the team reviewed the slope condition at KM21+900 as part of ongoing efforts to assess infrastructure along the route.
Particular attention was given to the need for possible improvements to ensure that road safety and accessibility continue to receive appropriate consideration.
The inspection at KM21+900 follows an earlier site assessment at KM13+800 in Ulu Skrang, where the XPDC team also reviewed the condition of a slope at a location identified for proposed repair works.
Both inspections form part of the wider field assessment being conducted during XPDC 3.0.
The programme provides an opportunity for infrastructure conditions to be examined directly at various locations across the Ulu Skrang area.
The site surveys are also intended to help identify locations where remedial or improvement works may be necessary.
At KM21+900, the focus is on understanding the present condition of the slope and determining the need for further improvements.
The assessment also takes into consideration the importance of maintaining safe and accessible road connections for people travelling through the area.
Ulu Skrang is among the rural and interior areas being covered during the XPDC 3.0 expedition.
The wider programme is reviewing infrastructure and accessibility conditions in Ulu Skrang, Ulu Kota and Ulu Entabai.
It is also aimed at identifying requirements for improvements to basic facilities and connectivity in areas where infrastructure plays an important role in supporting local communities.

The expedition officially began at the Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan Sports Hall in Betong before the team proceeded into the Ulu Skrang area.
The two-day programme, running from 12 to 13 August 2026, is part of the continuing XPDC series organised by JKR Sarawak.
Through the programme, infrastructure conditions and accessibility in rural and interior locations are being reviewed directly.
The inspection at KM21+900 is consistent with the wider objective of identifying areas where infrastructure improvements may contribute to better connectivity and community well-being.
It also reflects the focus of the programme on addressing infrastructure requirements beyond major urban centres.
The initiative is aligned with the Connecting The Last Mile approach, which emphasises improving connectivity for communities in rural and interior areas.
