KUCHING: The Rentap Fighting Championship (RFC) 2025 kicked off with a bang at Stadium Perpaduan, and all eyes were on Mia Ghazali, a 13-year-old Muay Thai prodigy from Sarawak, who delivered an unforgettable performance on the opening day.

Representing Rentap Muay Thai, Mia faced off against Sarah Onca from the Panthera Fight Team in the 42kg Bout 4 category. With her impeccable technique and unwavering determination, Mia captivated the crowd, showcasing why she’s a rising star in the martial arts world.

Mia’s commitment to her craft is evident in her rigorous training regime. She trains daily, including running 12 kilometers to perfect her skills in Muay Thai, also known as the “art of eight limbs.” Her discipline and dedication were on full display during the bout.

“Thank you all so much for coming and supporting this event. I’m so grateful,” Mia said, expressing her appreciation to the roaring audience.

Though still enjoying her latest triumph, Mia has her sights set on even greater achievements. “Maybe one day, I’ll take my fight to the international stage,” she shared with the Sarawak Tribune. For now, she remains focused on steady progress.

“I feel like the pressure is off. I feel amazing,” Mia said confidently, embracing the moment after her victory.

As the youngest sibling of Johan Ghazali, a renowned fighter in ONE Championship, Mia is carrying forward her family’s legacy in the ring. With her grounded attitude and relentless drive, she is undoubtedly a force to watch in the Muay Thai scene.

The RFC 2025, which began yesterday, will conclude today at Stadium Perpaduan.
