Jojo Sets Sights on Revenge in Anticipated Rematch with Estupinan

Jojo Sets Sights on Revenge in Anticipated Rematch with Estupinan

KUCHING (Jan 26): Sarawak’s rising muaythai star, Muhamad Johan Ghazali Zulfikar, popularly known as Jojo, has vowed to seek redemption in a much-anticipated rematch against Johan Estupinan of Colombia.

Jojo, 18, expressed his determination to overturn the outcome of their previous fight, which ended in a loss for him at the ONE 170 bout held at Bangkok’s Impact Arena last Friday. The Colombian fighter maintained his unbeaten streak, but Jojo is confident of a different result in their next encounter.

“There will definitely be a rematch, and my goal is to win that fight,” Jojo stated upon his arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) today.

While the exact date for the rematch remains uncertain, Jojo is optimistic it could take place later this year.

The young Sarawakian displayed a commendable performance in their last bout, giving his seasoned opponent a tough challenge in the three-round flyweight contest before losing on points.

Reflecting on his fight, Jojo expressed pride in his kicking technique and movement but admitted there is room for improvement. “In the next fight, I’ll focus on being all-rounded, especially improving my hands, legs, elbows—everything,” he shared.

Jojo acknowledged that his future opponents would likely be tougher, but he is determined to train harder and prepare himself to compete at the highest level.

“Of course, the opponents I will face next won’t be ordinary. So, I need to be well-prepared,” he added.

Fans of the Malaysian muaythai sensation eagerly await his next bout, hoping to see him achieve his dream of emerging victorious on the global stage.
