Bintulu Civil Defence Force Destroys Honey Bee Nest Safely

BINTULU – The Bintulu District Civil Defence Force responded to an emergency call on 27 April 2026 after residents reported the presence of a honey bee nest in front of a house.

The nest, located on a bidara tree, was inspected by squad members who confirmed its existence. Measuring roughly the size of a takraw ball, the nest posed a potential risk to the safety of the household and nearby residents.

The Civil Defence team carried out destruction using the burning technique, ensuring the operation was completed safely and effectively. Authorities confirmed that the situation was brought under control without any untoward incidents.

The Bintulu Civil Defence Force expressed appreciation to the public for promptly reporting the case, noting that community vigilance is vital in preventing hazards.
