APM Sarikei Conducts Ops Ramah Patrol to Boost Community Awareness

SARIKEI – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Sarikei District carried out Ops Ramah Patrol on 11 February 2025 to strengthen community ties and raise public awareness of safety measures.

The patrol ran from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, involving four APM members and using the Sarikei ambulance for mobility.

Covering 14 kilometres, the team travelled to the Jakar area before returning to the Sarikei PKOD headquarters.

During the operation, APM members distributed leaflets and shared information about the civil defence force’s roles and responsibilities.

Surveys were also conducted in government residential areas, coinciding with the festive season, to ensure the environment remained safe and orderly.

Officials explained that the patrol aimed to bring APM closer to the community, building trust and cooperation while promoting security and preparedness.

Direct engagement with residents helps strengthen resilience and encourages proactive safety practices.

The programme reflects APM Sarikei’s ongoing commitment to community service, guided by its principles of readiness, speed, and integrity.

The department highlighted its mottos, “Always with Civil Defence” and “Serving the Nation”, underscoring its dedication to protecting lives and property.

Residents welcomed the initiative, noting that such patrols provide reassurance during festive periods when movement and activities increase.

The operation also reinforced APM’s role as a frontline agency in disaster preparedness and community safety.

APM Sarikei confirmed that similar patrols will continue periodically, ensuring public safety remains a priority and that the community stays well-informed about civil defence operations.
