Walkabout at Bandar Riyal Ramadan Bazaar Distributes 200 Packs of Lambuk

BANDAR RIYAL – The Walkabout Programme at the Bandar Riyal Ramadan Bazaar on 23 February 2026 drew strong participation from traders and visitors, creating a lively atmosphere during the fasting month. The initiative was organised by N17 Stakan Youth and received encouraging support from the local community.

The event was officiated by Hamzah bin Haji Brahim, State Assemblyman (ADUN) for N17 Stakan. Also present were Abang Ismawi bin Abang Ali, Chairman of MPKS, Deputy Chairman Daily, and several members of the MPKS council, who joined in to show their support.

A total of 200 packs of lambuk porridge were distributed to traders and bazaar visitors. The gesture symbolised appreciation for the community and reinforced the spirit of togetherness during Ramadan.

In his remarks, YB Datuk Hamzah emphasised that programmes of this nature not only strengthen ties between leaders and residents but also provide a platform to support small traders. He noted that such initiatives help instil unity and encourage community participation, especially during festive seasons.

The organisers expressed gratitude to all parties who contributed to the success of the programme, including volunteers, local leaders, and supporting agencies. They highlighted the importance of sustaining such initiatives in the future to continue fostering community spirit and solidarity.

The Ramadan bazaar at Bandar Riyal has long been a hub for local traders and visitors, offering a variety of traditional delicacies and festive goods.

Events like the Walkabout Programme add value by creating opportunities for engagement between leaders and the community, while also promoting cultural traditions such as the distribution of lambuk porridge.

The success of the programme reflects the strong cooperation between youth organisations, local councils, and community members. It also underscores the role of grassroots initiatives in strengthening social bonds and supporting economic activity at the local level.
