Initial inspections revealed that two electrical extension cables, used for water pumps and benzene, were stolen. The estimated loss from the incident is around RM110.

Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing under Section 457 of the Penal Code, which covers offences related to housebreaking and theft.

So far, no arrests have been made, and police are continuing efforts to identify those responsible. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about cable theft, which can disrupt utility services and pose risks to both safety and community well-being.

Police have issued a reminder to the public to ensure that premises and work sites are properly monitored.

They advised residents and businesses to consider installing security systems such as CCTV to deter criminal activity.

Authorities also stressed the importance of community vigilance. Members of the public are urged to report any suspicious movements or activities near substations or work sites directly to the police.

Information can be channelled to IPD Bau or any nearby police station. Law enforcement officials emphasised that cooperation between the police and the community is vital in combating crime.

By working together, they noted, residents can help safeguard infrastructure and ensure that the safety and well-being of the district are maintained.
