The operation was conducted around Jalan Bau/Serikin, Bandar Bau, and Jalan Bau/Kuching. Officers inspected a total of 30 vehicles and 32 individuals during the exercise, which ran smoothly under favourable weather conditions.

As a result of the checks, police issued 10 summonses. These comprised five summonses under PDRM (K) 257 and another five under PDRM (K) 170A. The offences detected included failing to wear a helmet, vehicles without side mirrors, registration plates not meeting specifications, faulty braking systems, and brake lights that were not functioning.

The Bau District Police highlighted that such enforcement operations are essential in reducing risks on the road and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations. By targeting common offences, the initiative aims to raise awareness among motorists and encourage responsible driving behaviour.

Road safety remains a priority across Sarawak, with police regularly conducting compliance operations in both urban and rural areas. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to reduce accidents and safeguard communities.

Authorities have consistently reminded road users that safety begins with a responsible attitude. Motorists are urged to maintain their vehicles properly, follow traffic laws, and remain vigilant while on the road.

The Bau operation reflects the police’s commitment to proactive enforcement and their determination to uphold public safety. By intensifying such initiatives, the district police aim to foster a culture of compliance and reduce the incidence of traffic-related offences.

Community cooperation is also vital in sustaining these efforts. Police encourage residents to support enforcement measures by adhering to regulations and reporting unsafe practices. Together, law enforcement and the public can help build safer roads for all.

The Bau District Police confirmed that similar operations will continue in the future, reinforcing their message that road safety is a shared responsibility.
