BETONG – The Betong Division Youth and Sports Office held a discussion session on 16 April 2026 to plan programmes and activities for the year, ensuring that initiatives reach their intended target groups effectively.
The meeting took place at the Living Room of the Betong Division Youth and Sports Office and was chaired by Ms Nurulzamzam binti Hj Shafi’ie, Betong Division Youth and Sports Officer.
The session was attended by officers and staff from various youth, sports, and young friends units. Discussions focused on the planning calendar, programme content, target audiences, locality considerations, infrastructure facilities, and the involvement of strategic partners.
The aim was to ensure that each activity is well-structured, relevant, and accessible to the community.
A key announcement made during the meeting was that the Sarawak State Level National Sports Day (HSN) 2026 will be hosted in Betong on 17 October 2026.
This event is expected to be a major highlight of the year, bringing together communities from across the state to celebrate sports and healthy living.
Officials emphasised the importance of aligning activities with community needs, ensuring that programmes are not only recreational but also contribute to youth development and social cohesion.
By involving strategic partners, the office aims to strengthen collaboration and deliver impactful events that resonate with local communities.
The discussion also highlighted the need for suitable venues and infrastructure to support the planned activities.
Safety measures and competition rules were reviewed to ensure smooth implementation and to uphold standards of fairness and inclusivity.
