The emergency call was received at 12.49pm, reporting a fire affecting an estimated area of about two acres.

The location was approximately 5km from the responding fire station, according to the operation report issued by the Lundu Fire and Rescue Station.

Firefighters were deployed to the affected area after receiving the emergency notification and began efforts to contain and extinguish the fire.

The operation involved the use of fire extinguishers and a hose reel as part of the firefighting efforts at the site.

Firefighters also used a 100-foot flow of one-nozzle water source pump machinery to support the operation.

An open water source transport pump was also utilised to obtain water from a nearby ditch, with water pumped through a 500-foot relay system to support firefighting activities.

The combination of firefighting equipment and water pumping arrangements enabled personnel to continue efforts to extinguish the affected area.

The operation was carried out at the reported forest fire site at Lorong 1, Kampung Metang Terap, with firefighters working to bring the situation under control.

After the fire had been extinguished, firefighters conducted checks at the location to ensure that conditions were safe before ending the operation.

Once the team was satisfied that the situation was under control and the area was safe, the firefighters left the scene and returned to the station.

The operation was carried out by personnel from the Lundu Fire and Rescue Station.

The incident was recorded as a forest fire involving an estimated two acres of land at Lorong 1, Kampung Metang Terap, Lundu.

The operation report did not provide further details on the cause of the fire or whether any property was affected.
