This year’s competition marks a major expansion of the franchise, following successful outings in 2024 and 2025. In a strategic move to elevate the event’s prestige, DBKU is partnering with the Canroll Pro Urban Sports Festival.

The initiative is supported by a multi-agency collaboration involving the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, and the Canard Group.

Organisers anticipate a turnout of over 200 elite athletes from both domestic and international circuits. Competitors are expected to fly in from nations including France, South Africa, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.

To ensure inclusivity and talent development, the games will be split into two primary divisions: a Junior category for those under 15 and an Open category for seasoned professionals.

In addition to the main competitive brackets, the event will offer educational opportunities for the public. Specialised workshops for skateboarding and rollerblading will be conducted, aimed at teaching basic techniques to local youth and fostering a new generation of athletes.

DBKU aims for the International X-Games to do more than just entertain. By hosting international athletes and providing a platform for local talent, the event is designed to promote a healthier lifestyle and solidify Kuching’s reputation as a progressive, youth-friendly city.
