DBKU Siol Trail Run 2025 Attracts 400 Runners at Bukit Siol

DBKU Siol Trail Run 2025 Attracts 400 Runners at Bukit Siol

KUCHING – The DBKU Siol Trail Run 2025 drew a lively crowd of around 400 participants who took on the scenic yet challenging Bukit Siol route. The run was divided into two categories, the 5KM and the 8KM, giving runners of different levels the opportunity to test their endurance and enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings.

The trail run was organised in conjunction with the Kuching Festival and also formed part of the Siol International Mountain Bike Challenge (SIMBC) 2025. This makes the event not only a sporting highlight but also a significant part of Kuching’s cultural and recreational calendar.

The official flag-off ceremony was officiated by Yang Berhormat Datuk Dr Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Junaidi, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for the Regional Development Agency, North Kuching City Hall and Islamic Affairs). His presence added prestige to the event, reflecting the government’s ongoing support for sports and recreational programmes that encourage healthy lifestyles.

Also present were Yang Berusaha Encik Ramzi bin Abdillah, Director of DBKU, together with the Deputy Directors of DBKU, who joined participants and supporters in celebrating the success of the event.

In a statement, DBKU reaffirmed its commitment to organising more sports and recreational activities that not only promote health and fitness but also strengthen ties among the local community. The council also emphasised its efforts to further highlight Bukit Siol as a key ecotourism and leisure destination in Kuching.

With the combination of challenging trails, enthusiastic participants, and strong community support, the DBKU Siol Trail Run 2025 stands as a testament to Kuching’s growing reputation as a hub for outdoor sports and tourism. – DBKU
