The week-long festival featured diverse attractions including the Folk Stage, traditional Bermukun performances, the Jom Sihat BDA health programme, a vibrant Battle of the Band competition, and the crowd-favourite Power Boat Race, which saw international participation including the Black Mamba team from Brunei Darussalam.

Minister of Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development Sarawak, Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, expressed his pride in the festival’s impact and community reception during a press conference. “I am excited to see such an enthusiastic turnout. The support from the public reflects the potential Sebauh has as a growing destination,” he said.

Dr Rundi also announced government approval for the construction of the Sebauh Waterfront, a development expected to transform the town’s riverside and establish a new tourism hotspot.

Although the highly anticipated regatta race was postponed to allow for further preparation, organisers remain optimistic about hosting it in the next edition with even broader participation from outside Bintulu and Sarawak.

Highlighting Sebauh’s role in the local economy, Dr Rundi encouraged the public, particularly those from Bintulu, to visit Sebauh to purchase local produce such as vegetables, shrimp, and fresh fish. He also urged the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) to prioritise road connectivity, especially linking Sebauh to Ulu Pandan, Jelalong, and Tubau, to further boost accessibility and economic growth.

He added that infrastructure development would align with Sebauh’s goal of urban renewal and promote agro-tourism through large-scale events such as Agrofest. Agrofest 2025 is scheduled for 23–31 August in Bintulu and is expected to attract a record number of visitors.

Sebauh Festival 2025 not only provided entertainment and community bonding but also highlighted the district’s emerging potential as a tourism and economic hub in Sarawak.
