According to the Sibu District Police Headquarters (IPD), the incident occurred at approximately 11.15pm and involved a Lexus RX350 driven by a 25-year-old local man and a Yamaha 135LC motorcycle carrying two 19-year-old men.

Preliminary findings suggest the Lexus was travelling from Sibu town towards Salim when the driver reportedly lost control, skidded into the opposite lane and collided with the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

The impact caused severe injuries to the rider, who was later pronounced dead at Sibu Hospital at 12.24am. His pillion passenger sustained injuries and remains under medical care.
