Four-Wheel Drive Skids in Bintangor, Driver Escapes Unhurt

BINTANGOR, SARAWAK – A four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle was involved in a self-inflicted accident near a secondary school in Bintangor last night. Fortunately, the driver escaped without injuries.

Chief of Bintangor Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Mahmudin Narudin, confirmed that his department received an emergency call about the accident at 9.48 pm.

“Responding swiftly to the call, our operations chief, Haron Jenai, led a team of four firefighters to the accident site,” he stated when contacted today.

Upon reaching the location, authorities found that the 4WD had skidded off the road, coming to a stop at the roadside. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

Driver Managed to Escape on His Own

Mahmudin added that the driver managed to exit the vehicle safely before the fire brigade arrived.

“Our team monitored the situation, but since the driver was already out and unhurt, no further rescue operation was needed,” he said.

The fire brigade wrapped up their special services at the crash site by 9.56 pm.

Local authorities are urging drivers to be cautious while driving, especially at night, to avoid skidding incidents caused by wet roads, speed, or sudden maneuvers.

This incident serves as a reminder for all motorists to stay alert and drive safely.
