Ali Bujang Honoured as Gedong’s Maulidur Rasul Figure for 2025

GEDONG – Community leader Ali Bujang has been named the Gedong District Level Maulidur Rasul Figure for 1447H/2025M, in recognition of his longstanding dedication to social development, religious leadership, and unity-building efforts in Kampung Gedong.

At 61, the father of five has played a pivotal role in organizing grassroots initiatives and fostering harmony among residents. His leadership spans multiple sectors, including politics, religious institutions, and welfare organizations.

Among his notable roles are Vice Head of the Gedong PBB Branch, Head of the Gedong PBB Zone, and Chairman of the Gedong Disabled Children’s Association (OKU).

Ali also chairs the Surau Assyakirin in Kampung Kanchong Baru and serves on the management committee of Masjid Al-Kawthar Gedong, reflecting his deep involvement in religious affairs.

His contributions have earned him the Pingat Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS), a state-level award recognizing distinguished service.

As the permanent chairman of the Gedong Village Maulidur Rasul Celebration Working Committee, Ali has been instrumental in ensuring the annual celebration runs smoothly, drawing participation from across the district.

His leadership has helped elevate the event into a symbol of unity and spiritual reflection for the local community.

The award ceremony, held in conjunction with the district’s Maulidur Rasul celebration at Dewan Datuk Patinggi Ali, highlighted Ali’s role as a model citizen who champions the values of the ummah and promotes Islamic teachings through action and service.

His recognition comes as Gedong continues to evolve as a district, with leaders like Ali Bujang playing a key role in shaping its social and spiritual landscape.
