GIATMARA Limbang Project Nears Completion with 96% Progress

LIMBANG – The construction of the GIATMARA Limbang facility is now in its final phase, with physical progress recorded at 96.14% as of 11 March 2026. The project, implemented by the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak, is expected to be completed soon, marking a significant milestone for human capital development in the division.

Once operational, the facility will play a vital role in strengthening the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem in northern Sarawak. It is designed to provide more opportunities for local youth to acquire practical skills, thereby supporting the state’s ambition to produce a competitive and highly skilled workforce.

The GIATMARA Limbang project is part of Sarawak’s broader initiative to expand access to vocational training, ensuring that communities outside major urban centres benefit from modern educational infrastructure. By equipping young people with technical expertise, the facility aims to enhance employability and contribute to the state’s socio-economic growth.
