MIRI – A grand banquet was held at Hai Long Temple in Miri Province on 23 June 2026 to celebrate the 68th birthday of Abbot Wu Qinglong.
The event, which began at 6.45 pm, drew a large gathering of devotees and community members, reflecting the temple’s longstanding role as a centre of faith and cultural life in the region.
The celebration was organised in honour of Abbot Wu Qinglong, who has guided the temple community for many years.
His leadership has been closely associated with the temple’s devotion to the Nine Emperor Gods, the Arhats, and the Three Emperor Dragon Kings, all of whom are central figures in the temple’s spiritual practices.
The banquet provided an opportunity for worshippers and guests to come together in fellowship, sharing food and conversation while paying tribute to the Abbot’s contributions.

Miri City Council Mayor, YB Adam Yii, attended the occasion and extended his congratulations to the Abbot.
