Saudara Kita Forum Concludes at Sarawak Nuzul Al-Quran Celebration

SRI AMAN – The First Saudara Kita Forum concluded with an adjournment ceremony at the Seri Simanggang Hotel on 6 March 2026, held in conjunction with the Sarawak-level Nuzul Al-Quran celebration for 1447H/2026M.

The ceremony was officiated by Mual Suaud, director of the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department. In his address, he spoke about the need to nurture love for the Qur’an, appreciate the significance of Ramadan, and strengthen unity through dakwah across Sarawak’s diverse communities.

The forum was organised by the Saudara Kita Development Division in collaboration with the Sri Aman Division Islamic Religious Office.

The programme featured a panel of speakers, including Yakub Abdullah, Rasyidah Abdullah, and Abdul Rahman Abdullah, who also served as the moderator.

A recitation of the Qur’an by Siti Khadijah Abdullah added a spiritual element to the ceremony, drawing attention to the importance of reflection and learning during the holy month.

Organisers said the forum aimed to encourage a deeper appreciation of the Qur’an while strengthening bonds among communities.

The programme combined religious education with outreach, promoting inclusivity within Sarawak’s multicultural society.

The Saudara Kita Forum forms part of ongoing efforts by the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department to create platforms for dialogue, learning, and spiritual growth.

The initiative reflects the department’s commitment to nurturing compassion, unity, and respect during Ramadan and throughout the year.

With its successful conclusion in Sri Aman, the forum sets a positive example for future programmes focused on strengthening understanding of the Qur’an and building stronger community ties across the state.
