Kota Samarahan Police Operation Leads to Three Arrests

KOTA SAMARAHAN – Police in Kota Samarahan arrested three local men during a two-day crime prevention operation carried out across the district from 20 to 21 August.

The operation, known as Op Bersepadu Cenayah, involved roadblocks, vehicle and individual inspections, as well as preventive patrols at identified focus areas and crime hotspots.

According to the Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters (IPD), officers inspected 90 vehicles and 92 individuals during the operation. Police also issued 14 PDRM (K) 257 summonses for various traffic offences.

Three local men were arrested in separate cases during the operation. One was detained in connection with an offence under Section 380 of the Penal Code, while two others were arrested over suspected driving with an alcohol concentration above the permitted limit.

The two drink-driving cases were investigated under Section 45A of the Road Transport Act 1987. The provision relates to driving or attempting to drive while exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit.

Police said the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen crime prevention and enforcement in areas considered vulnerable to offences. The checks also covered road users and individuals as part of wider efforts to improve compliance with existing laws.

The enforcement activity comes as police continue to use targeted patrols and inspections as preventive measures. Such operations can involve a combination of traffic enforcement, checks on individuals and vehicles, and visible police presence in areas identified as requiring greater attention.

The Kota Samarahan IPD said it would continue increasing patrols and conducting focused operations, particularly in hotspot locations across the district.

Police said the continued presence was intended to deter criminal activity, encourage greater compliance with the law and support public safety and order.

The district police headquarters also reiterated the importance of cooperation between law enforcement agencies and members of the public in preventing crime and maintaining security within local communities.

The operation highlights the role of routine enforcement activity in addressing both criminal and traffic-related offences. While the latest operation resulted in three arrests and multiple traffic summonses, police did not provide further details on the individual cases or the specific locations involved.

The public is expected to remain attentive to traffic regulations and other legal requirements as enforcement operations continue in the district.

The Kota Samarahan IPD said its approach would remain focused on prevention, enforcement and maintaining public order, with patrols and operations to be conducted in areas identified as crime hotspots.

The operation was carried out under the message, “Police and Community Are Not Separate”, reflecting the police emphasis on cooperation with the public in efforts to maintain safety and security.
