KOTA SAMARAHAN – The Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) of the Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters (IPD) conducted an internal integrated operation in the vicinity of SMK Asajaya on 15 May 2026, aimed at strengthening compliance with road regulations and safeguarding public safety.
The operation, which ran from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm, was led by a BSPT officer supported by seven division members, with additional assistance from two personnel attached to the Asajaya Police Station.
The initiative was part of ongoing enforcement efforts to monitor road users, particularly students, and ensure adherence to traffic laws.
During the exercise, officers inspected 51 motorcycles and questioned 66 individuals. The checks resulted in the issuance of 38 summonses under PDRM (K) 257 for a range of traffic offences.
Authorities also seized eight motorcycles under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987, citing non-compliance with legal requirements.
Police highlighted that the operation was designed not only to enforce the law but also to raise awareness among young riders about the importance of road safety.
With motorcycles being a common mode of transport for students, the authorities stressed that strict enforcement is necessary to reduce risks and instil responsible behaviour.
The Kota Samarahan police have consistently carried out similar operations across the district, targeting areas with high student activity.
These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to curb traffic violations, prevent accidents, and promote safer roads for all users.
Community engagement remains a priority, with police encouraging the public to cooperate during inspections and to view enforcement as a measure to protect lives.
Officers noted that compliance with road laws is essential in reducing accidents and ensuring that motorcycles are properly maintained and legally registered.
The operation reflects the wider commitment of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to uphold safety standards and reinforce discipline among road users.
By focusing on schools and surrounding areas, the authorities aim to instil early awareness among young riders, ensuring that they understand the consequences of traffic offences and the importance of responsible driving.
Police have reiterated that similar operations will continue to be conducted periodically, with the objective of maintaining order and preventing unsafe practices on the road.
The Kota Samarahan IPD emphasised that enforcement is not only about punishment but also about education, ensuring that the community recognises the shared responsibility of keeping roads safe.
