KUCHING – The construction of the Kuching Federal Building Complex is progressing significantly ahead of its projected timeline, comfortably outperforming initial targets by 168 days.
Sarawak Federal Secretary Dato Ahmad Nadzri bin Mohd Hassan confirmed the positive momentum during a site monitoring inspection aimed at assessing construction benchmarks and securing timely project delivery.
The site visit commenced with an extensive project review briefing conducted by Ir. Wan Jeymizan bin Hj. Wan Suaidi, the Senior Civil Engineer and Deputy Principal Project Director for Special Project Team 2 of the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR).
The briefing focused heavily on the engineering metrics and the overall structural progress achieved so far. Following the briefing, the Federal Secretary conducted a thorough evaluation of the physical structures on-site.
The inspection validated the accelerated timeline, confirming that the strategic scheduling and active deployment of resources have mitigated potential construction bottlenecks.
A delegation of prominent officials accompanied the Federal Secretary to review the site operations. This included Sarawak State Development Office Deputy Director Encik Wan Fadillah bin Wan Ahmad and Senior Superintendent Materials Surveyor Puan Ramlah binti Abd Rahman from JKR Malaysia’s General Building Works Branch.
Also present during the high-level evaluation was Mrs Lavinia Clarissa anak Jusueb, the Chief Assistant Federal Secretary for the Property Development and Management Division, alongside various engineering consultants and building contractors.
The collaborative review allowed officials to align upcoming development phases with local urban requirements.
The successful progress of the building complex underscores enhanced coordination between federal planners and regional engineering teams.
Project leaders intend to maintain this accelerated momentum to facilitate an efficient handover, ensuring the completed facility meets high structural standards for public administrative use.
