Moroccan Agency Supports Palestinian Farmers with Tools and Irrigation Aid

Moroccan Agency Supports Palestinian Farmers with Tools and Irrigation Aid

AL‑QUDS — The Bayt Mal Al‑Quds Acharif Agency, under the chairmanship of King Mohammed VI of Morocco and operating through the Al‑Quds Committee, has significantly expanded its agricultural support programs for Palestinian farmers in Jerusalem and Gaza.

Boosting Olive Farming and Irrigation Infrastructure

Palestinian Agriculture Minister Rizq Salimia praised a recent meeting in Rabat with the Agency’s Director Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, highlighting support for olive cultivation.

The Agency has supplied olive-harvesting equipment and distributed olive seedlings, while planning projects for improved irrigation through water tanks and modern systems to increase agricultural resilience in Al‑Quds (East Jerusalem).

Expanding to Gaza’s Displaced Communities

In the third phase of Morocco’s 2025 humanitarian campaign, around 500 displaced families in Gaza’s Al‑Bureij refugee camp received fresh vegetable food baskets sourced from local markets.

These distributions were implemented by the Moroccan Association for Support of Reconstruction in Palestine with logistical oversight by the Bayt Mal Al‑Quds Agency.

Sustained Humanitarian and Development Engagement

The initiative continues broader Moroccan efforts to support Palestinians across sectors including agriculture, health, education, and reconstruction—driven by King Mohammed VI’s directives.

Morocco remains the largest contributor to the Bayt Mal Al‑Quds Agency, funding a majority of its activities focused on social and economic development in Jerusalem and Gaza.

Strengthening Farmer Capacity & Resilience

Beyond immediate food aid, Morocco’s agricultural interventions include training for climate‑smart practices and improving farmers’ ability to weather food insecurity and water scarcity.

These efforts align with Moroccan-supported hydric infrastructure while reinforcing Palestinian food production capacity over the long term.
