The initiative was led by YB Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang, Assemblyman for N13 Batu Kitang, as a gesture of appreciation for the love, care, and sacrifices of mothers in the community.

The event, held in the evening, brought smiles and festive cheer to families and market-goers. Mothers received flowers as tokens of gratitude, symbolising their vital role in nurturing families and contributing to society.

The distribution created a lively and heartwarming atmosphere, with many expressing joy at being recognised on this special day.

Dato Lo Khere Chiang emphasised the importance of honouring mothers, noting that their dedication forms the foundation of strong families and communities.

The gesture, though simple, carried deep meaning for those present, reinforcing the value of compassion and respect within society.

Mother’s Day, celebrated globally, serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and unconditional love that mothers provide.

In Sarawak, community-driven initiatives such as this flower distribution highlight the close-knit bonds between leaders and residents, fostering goodwill and unity.

The event also reflected broader cultural traditions in Sarawak, where community gatherings often serve as platforms to strengthen social ties.

By engaging directly with the public, leaders like Dato Lo Khere Chiang continue to promote inclusivity and appreciation for the contributions of all citizens.

As the flowers were handed out, many mothers expressed gratitude for the recognition, sharing that such gestures make them feel valued and appreciated.

The celebration not only honoured mothers but also encouraged younger generations to reflect on the importance of family and the role of women in shaping society.

The Mother’s Day flower distribution at Batu Kitang’s markets stands as a meaningful reminder of the enduring love and sacrifices of mothers while also showcasing the community’s commitment to celebrating family values.
