KUCHING – The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) participated in the 2026 Innovative and Creative Group Convention (KIK), held at UCSI Hotel Kuching from 28 June to 1 July 2026.
Representing MPP in the Management Category was the D’Siradik Group, which presented a project designed to improve efficiency in office operations.
The group’s innovation, titled “Application for Inefficient Office Stationery Stock”, focused on streamlining the management of office supplies.
The project aimed to reduce wastage, improve resource allocation, and enhance workflow efficiency, reflecting MPP’s commitment to continuous improvement in service delivery.
This year’s convention, organised by the Sarawak Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, brought together 32 teams in total.
Six groups competed in the Management Category, while 26 groups participated in the Technical Category.
Three winners were selected from each category, highlighting the competitive spirit and creativity showcased during the event.
The D’Siradik Group’s participation demonstrated MPP’s dedication to fostering a culture of innovation within its organisation.
By encouraging staff to develop practical solutions, the council seeks to improve operational efficiency and strengthen the quality of services provided to the community.
In a statement, MPP expressed its appreciation to the D’Siradik Group for their commitment, teamwork, and creativity throughout the convention.
The council emphasised that such initiatives are essential in cultivating innovation and excellence within public service institutions.
The KIK Convention has long served as a platform for government agencies and local councils to share ideas, showcase projects, and inspire one another to adopt innovative practices.
By promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange, the convention contributes to the broader goal of enhancing public sector performance across Sarawak.
MPP also extended congratulations to all winners of the 2026 convention, noting that their achievements serve as an inspiration for other agencies to strengthen innovation and excellence in service delivery.
The council reaffirmed its commitment to supporting similar initiatives in the future, ensuring that innovation remains a cornerstone of its organisational culture.
