SRI AMAN – Twelve dhikr groups from Sri Aman and surrounding areas took part in a special religious programme held at Bandar Sri Aman Mosque as part of the Maulidur Rasul 1448H/2026M celebrations.
The Zikir Performance Programme was held after Maghrib prayers on Monday, bringing together participants for an evening of dhikr and prayers in conjunction with the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
The programme was attended by Sri Aman Division Resident Mahra Salleh, who also serves as chairman of the Sri Aman Division Islamic Celebrations Standing Committee. She was present as the guest of honour for the event.
Performances by the participating groups formed the main feature of the programme, with each group presenting dhikr and prayers at the mosque.
The participation of groups from different parts of the division and nearby areas also provided an opportunity for members of the Muslim community to gather for a shared religious activity.
The programme was organised as part of efforts to commemorate Maulidur Rasul while encouraging greater appreciation of Islamic practices and traditions.
Dhikr and selawat are among the practices highlighted through the event, with organisers seeking to encourage their continued observance in daily life.
Beyond the performances themselves, the programme was intended to provide spiritual activities within the mosque and promote the use of the place of worship as a setting for religious learning and community engagement.
Organisers also placed emphasis on encouraging younger members of the community to learn about the knowledge and practice associated with dhikr.

The participation of 12 groups also reflected the involvement of Muslim communities from different areas around Sri Aman.
Bringing the groups together created an opportunity for participants and visitors to strengthen ties and build closer relationships within the Muslim community.
The Maulidur Rasul observance therefore combined religious commemoration with community participation, with the evening programme centred on dhikr, prayers and selawat.
Such gatherings also provide a setting for established religious practices to be shared among different generations and communities.
