RM5,000 Grant Boosts Community Programmes in Kampung Tanjung Bundong

KOTA SAMARAHAN – The Rukun Tetangga Community (KRT) Lot Phase 3, Kampung Tanjung Bundong has received a grant of RM5,000 from the Samarahan Division Department of National Unity and National Integration (JPNIN) to support community development initiatives.

The handover ceremony, held at the Kampung Tanjung Bundong National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) on Tuesday, was officiated by the representative of Muara Tuang State Assemblyman Kr Aziz Mohamad Buang. The grant was formally presented to KRT Chairman Junaidi Kaderi.

The funding will be used to implement programmes under the Community Madani Rakyat Disantuni 2025 initiative, focusing on activities that strengthen unity, social welfare and community cooperation.

Samarahan Division Unity Officer Diana Seliman explained that the grant is intended to encourage active participation in community-building efforts.

“This grant is also a catalyst for strengthening the KRT organisation so that it continues to be active, competitive and able to plan community development programmes that have a positive impact on the community,” she said.

She added that the initiative aims to ensure residents benefit directly from programmes that foster togetherness and improve well-being.

The grant is expected to serve as a model for other communities, demonstrating how grassroots organisations can play a vital role in promoting unity and resilience.

The support reflects the government’s broader commitment to empowering local communities through practical assistance and inclusive programmes.

By strengthening KRT organisations, the state hopes to build stronger neighbourhood networks that can sustain long-term development and social harmony.

Community leaders expressed optimism that the grant will help Kampung Tanjung Bundong continue to serve as an example of effective grassroots organisation, inspiring other villages to adopt similar approaches in strengthening unity and cooperation.
