The incident was reported early in the day, prompting immediate deployment of three personnel to the site. Equipped with chainsaws, the team carried out cutting and removal work to ensure the road was safe for motorists.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the tree had completely obstructed the road, preventing vehicles from passing. The team worked efficiently to cut the tree into sections and remove debris, allowing traffic to resume smoothly. The operation was completed without any untoward incidents, and the road was declared safe for public use.

Fallen trees are a recurring hazard in Sarawak, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall or strong winds. Such incidents can disrupt daily life, damage infrastructure, and pose risks to road users. Civil Defence teams across the state remain on standby to respond quickly to these emergencies, ensuring safety and minimising inconvenience to residents.

The Saratok operation reflects the readiness and professionalism of APM personnel, whose swift intervention prevented further disruption. Their commitment to public safety underscores the importance of community cooperation in reporting hazards promptly.

Authorities have reminded residents to immediately contact emergency services if they encounter similar situations. Quick reporting enables teams to respond effectively and reduce risks to the public.

The Civil Defence Force continues to emphasise its motto of readiness, speed, and integrity in serving the community. By maintaining operational preparedness and engaging with local residents, the department ensures that safety remains a priority across Sarawak.

Community members are reminded that in case of emergencies, they can contact the Saratok Civil Defence Force or dial the national emergency line at 999.

The successful clearance of Jalan Semurin highlights the importance of proactive emergency response and reinforces public confidence in the Civil Defence Force’s ability to safeguard communities.
