Road Repairs Underway in Saratok Ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri

SARATOK – Road repair and maintenance works are currently being carried out on Perpat, Batang Maro, and Paloh roads, following the appointment of contractors by the Saratok Public Works Department (JKR).

The works began on 13 March 2026 and are being actively monitored to ensure completion before the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations next week. The initiative aims to improve road conditions and enhance safety for motorists travelling in the district.

YB Mohamad Bin Duri, State Assemblyman for N.38 Kalaka, expressed appreciation to JKR Saratok for their commitment in ensuring the roads remain in good condition.

He also extended gratitude to the village heads of Kampung Perpat and Kampung Paloh for their vigilance in monitoring the condition of the roads and consistently reporting updates. Their cooperation has been vital in ensuring that issues are addressed promptly.

Road maintenance projects such as these are part of broader efforts across Sarawak to improve infrastructure in rural and semi-rural areas.

With festive seasons often seeing increased travel, timely repairs are crucial to prevent accidents and ensure smoother journeys for residents.

The initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between government agencies, contractors, and local communities in maintaining public infrastructure.

By working together, authorities aim to deliver safe and reliable roads that benefit both daily commuters and festive travellers.
