Sarawak, Election Commission Strengthen Electoral Collaboration

KUCHING – The Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, held a high-level meeting with the Secretary of the national Election Commission (EC), Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus, at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Tuesday.

The discussion was centred on reinforcing the partnership between the federal commission and the Sarawak state government.

The courtesy visit focused on enhancing coordination for the preparation and management of electoral processes within the state.

This high-level engagement underscores a mutual commitment to ensuring the smooth administration of elections in Sarawak.

The state administrative headquarters, Wisma Bapa Malaysia, houses the offices of the Sarawak Premier and various other government departments.

The federal delegation included several key officials from the EC. Among them were the Deputy Secretary (Operations), Shafie Taib, and the Director of the Sarawak State Election Commission, Abang Noraffian Abang Ibrahim.

Also, present were the Deputy Director of the Sarawak EC, Hamfatullah Syawal Hamdan, the Secretary of the EC’s Borders Division, Mohd Shukur Khalid, Assistant Director Nurshaima Napis, and Assistant Secretary Harianto Saleh.
