Among the honours conferred were the Excellent Service Award Certificate and the 20 Years of Service Certificate, acknowledging staff who have demonstrated loyalty and commitment throughout their careers.

The ceremony served as a platform to celebrate excellence within the education sector, highlighting the role of educators and administrators in shaping Sarawak’s future. Staff members recognised at the event were praised for their ability to uphold integrity while delivering quality service, reinforcing the department’s mission to support the state’s educational development.

Also present were YBrs. Encik Omar bin Haji Mahli, Director of the Sarawak State Education Department, and YBrs. Puan Hajah Siti Zulaiha binti Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Director of the Learning Sector and Chairperson of the ceremony. Their attendance underscored the importance of leadership in fostering a culture of appreciation and motivation among staff.

The awards reflect the government’s broader aspiration to empower human capital that is knowledgeable, skilled, and integrity-driven. By recognising long-serving and high-performing staff, the ceremony aims to inspire continued commitment to excellence in education and public service.

In his remarks, Dato Ahmad Nadzri emphasised that the recognition is not only a reward for past achievements but also a catalyst for future contributions. He noted that the dedication of education staff plays a vital role in ensuring Sarawak’s education system remains competitive and aligned with national development goals.

The ceremony highlighted the diverse contributions of staff across different sectors of the education department. From administrative officers to teaching professionals, each recipient was acknowledged for their role in maintaining high standards and supporting the department’s mission.

The recognition of long-serving staff, particularly those who have dedicated two decades to the department, reflects the value placed on loyalty and sustained commitment. Such contributions are seen as vital in maintaining institutional stability and continuity.

The event concluded with congratulations extended to all award recipients, with hopes that the recognition will encourage them to continue striving for excellence. The ceremony reinforced the message that education is central to Sarawak’s progress, and the dedication of its staff is key to achieving that vision.
