Participants learned how to prepare, arrange, and transfer official records according to the standards set by the National Archives of Malaysia. The training aimed to ensure government departments manage documents in a structured and consistent manner.

The workshop also introduced digital tools used in record migration. These systems support better document tracking while helping departments maintain compliance with national record-keeping guidelines. The approach reduces the risk of misplaced or poorly managed files.

Officials explained that proper record management supports efficient public service delivery. Well-organised files allow faster access to information, smoother workflows, and stronger institutional memory within government agencies.

The programme also reflects the government’s wider push for administrative digitalisation and modernisation. By improving staff skills in records management, the initiative helps the Sarawak Federal Secretary’s Office stay aligned with national best practices.
